The highest hostel in Britain!
Situated at 1550ft on the flanks of Skiddaw and 3.5 miles from the nearest road, this traditional hostel offers comfortable accommodation with the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of an alpine hut.
The hostel has 22 beds spread over 4 rooms. Family rooms, private rooms and dorm beds are all available. You can also hire the whole hostel.
We have a small shop on site that sells everything you need to make a simple meal for breakfast, packed lunch and dinner. We are licensed and offer a range of local beers, wines and spirits.
The building has been insulated with sheep’s fleece, creating a cosy atmosphere, despite the high-altitude location. There are two showers and a reliable hot water supply. Bedding is provided and towels are available for hire. The traditional common room combines a kitchen and dining room. We also have a comfortable lounge with a wood burning stove. The Self-Catering kitchen has a gas oven and hobs and is well-equipped with crockery, pans and utensils.
We offer camping with full use of the hostel facilities, please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org directly to book.
