Wetherdown Lodge was once the home of Royal Navy trainees, but it has been completely renovated and is now a model in how to use energy and cut carbon emissions. The heating and hot water is provided by a biomass boiler, which uses locally sourced wood, whilst the warmth is retained by wool fleece insulation. It has triple glazed windows, solar roof tiles and natural maromoleum flooring.

Toilets & Washing
Our facilities include a solar shower block with 3 showers and a washing up area in a straw bale building. We have 2 compost toilets.
Winter Camping is available over winter (November – March) but facilities only include the compost toilets and a standpipe for drinking water. The showers and washing up area are only available from 1st April – 31st October.
We have a wood fired pizza oven and a basic BBQ for campers to use on a first-come first-served basis. Jade and Nathan run the fabulous Beech Cafe on site, which is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10am to 4pm (3pm in winter) and serves delicious vegetarian and vegan lunches and cakes. Evening meals can be booked in advance by contacting the Beech Cafe.
We have 2 fire pits and four fire bowls on our campsite so that you can enjoy a campfire under the stars.
Logs & Fire Wood
We sell bags of firewood from our Eco-Lodge and main reception for £6.00 per bag. We only sell locally sourced firewood, including kindling. We ask guests to respect our woodland and not gather firewood and kindling from our site, in order to preserve the natural habitats for wildlife.
Please note that ours is a quiet, family friendly campsite. We do not allow music or drumming on site and we ask for all noise and loud chatter to quieten down after 10.30 pm.
